Fine Tuning My Decision

I have spent the better part of three weeks comparing and driving all models. I am looking to stay under the 30Hp range for one reason. Anything larger and my wife feels intimidated by it. I know that she would get used to it, but this is as you know a family decision.

Narrowed it down to the following

New Holland TC30
Mahindra 2810
Massey 1428V

I like them all. I do not need talked into any of them, I guess I am looking to be talked out of them.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I see that you posted a message in the New Holland forum regarding the purchase price for a TC30 and a couple of attachments after you posted this message.

Does this mean that you've decided to go with the TC30? Or does it mean that it is the only one you have a price for right now?

If you still want responses to this question, I'll offer the following. Since you've listed 3 different tractors, all of which you state that you like, then I'd say you're down to just a couple of factors left to help you decide.

First, does your wife like any of them better than the others? Do I recall correctly that you said she would be operating it too? If so, her input would be important. Go with the one she likes best.

Second, if the wife likes them all equally well, then I'd make my decision based on the dealer. Which dealer did you feel most comfortable with? Whcih one will provide the best after purchase support?

I did not say anything about finances since you've implied (by absence) that this is not a factor.

O.K. I see that you've posted the same basic question in each particular forum with the prices for that particular brand. I guess that works, but it sure is cumbersome. What would have worked better is if you had listed all of this information in this thread, since this forum is not brand specific.

I think they are all good machines. The dealer should factor in pretty highly if you like them all. I would visit the dealers again and take a close look around the facility and talk to the manager, service manager and salesman. At my job we have numerous NH and MF's. My neighbor has a Mahindra that has worked very well for him... however it only has about 250 hours on it. Just my opinion, but I would like the NH first, and the Mahindra and MF are a toss up.

Iwill not try to talk you out of any of them. I see you have 30 acres to work on but you don't tell us what actually you will be doing with the tractor? Think it might be up to you and the wife to decide which one you like best for the $$$$ and of course the dealer. good luck in your decesion.

I can't add anything the other guys have already said. Usually I say dealer but you threw your wife in on this deal. So I guess I would sit down with her and say "honey, which one do you like the best and feel you could operate the easiest?" Then I would get her advice on which dealer she thinks will give you the best service after the sale. You already narrowed it down to three tractors and the three you mentioned are all good rigs. Now you have to be careful also because if you get the one your wife likes the best you may never get to use the tractor so you may steer away from that one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif just kiddin.

Go with your wife, agree on the dealer together and get the tractor that matches the above.
