Fire Extinguisher mounting locations!!

Just curious how and where you have your fire extinguishers mounted on your tractors?? Pics would be great.

That's fine and dandy... untill the garage/barn/house its parked in/next to goes with it... *grin*

I have not mounted a fire ext on my tractor... yet. Will likely go on left loader arm post or left ROPS rear post where easy to get to from seat and ground.

I don't have a picture but I just mounted the extinguisher on the left ROPS arm at the bottom. I used the mounting bracket that came with the extinguisher and attached it to the ROPS with zip ties. It has worked just fine and does not interfere with raising or lowering the ROPS.

Fortunately, I have never needed to use it yet.

I've got them in the shop along with water. Until you've had something catch fire and supposedly repaired by the dealer only to find out it will never ever be quite right then you won't believe in letting them burn to the ground and having insurance write you a check.

I have never seen a diesel farm tractor catch fire but there seems to be lots of it happening with TBN members. I wonder how many of them are started by rats nest near the muffler or shorted electrical wiring from same rodents chewing the wires. All my tractors are parked under open sided sheds and never seen a rat near one of them. As matter of fact, since we keep the pasture grass cut short, I don't see any rats in the fields any more either, just one rabbit on the whole 42 acres, but there are several squirrels which my dog loves to chase so they stay close to the treeline.

The one on the L4240 sits in the second cup holder. The one for the BX sits in the building. I have not figured out a good way to mount it.

I fabbed a mounting plate for my extinguisher, which also has a chain saw holder built onto it at the same time. Works real good, lasts a long time lol. I have a thread on it somewhere on the forum here, if you want to see the details of it. It's mounted on my JD 790, but this location probably won't work for all loaders.

My first thought is to mount it to the ROPS, like MoKelly described.
Besides the obvious tractor related fire suppression duties, could a CO2 extinguisher be used to shut down a runaway engine?
