I am going to modify my fire wood log splitter and turn it into a fire wood processor to help speed up pruduction. I use my electric hydraulic power unit that I use for my tubing bender to run the splitter now and will continue to do so. I will also be using an electric chainsaw like in the video. It just looks simple to fab up and use. For the conveyor feed, I am not sure what the best/easiest option would be, a hydraulic motor or an electric one. I already have a 3/4hp electric motor and with some gear reduction via chain and sprockets I am hoping I could get down to a slow enough speed, maybe even stick in a speed reduce. Although a hydraulic motor with a flow control valve might be an easier option. The plan is to build one similar to the one in the video link below except with a motorized feed table. I have been watching the video over and over trying to figure out how the "automatic" function of the splitter valve is designed. Clearly it has to do with the piece of flat bar just beneath the table and the rod that moves with the cylinder forward and back. Not sure if its a regular splitter kick off valve or something different. If any of you can see something in the video that I am not picking up or know anything about this it, I would appreciate some help.

That's pretty cool also. It would eliminate needing separate functions for each of the conveyor and the splitter.
