I saw the report, I have used the bricks in the past. They work, I am not impressed by them but I did use them last year when I ran out of wood at the end of the season. My other half works at a building supply store, she says they sell a ton of them and folks buying them say they really like them. I also discovered, the hard way, that you need to keep them dry. I had some sitting on the garage floor, they got wet and basically exploded into a pile of wood shavings almost 10x the size of the original bricks. It was a mess to clean up.

Prestolog, if they are still in business sold round logs of mostly compressed sawdust way back in the 40s. We burned some on the farm when short of firewood. More expensive than firewood if you are buying that and considerably more expensive than FW if you cut your own.

I burn Anthracite pea coal in a stoker boiler, fill the hopper once a week..
