Firewood stacking strategy

   / Firewood stacking strategy #31
I lay 2 - 2x4's flat and stack on those. 1st layer is split side down. The end of the row is tapered down or I criss cross layers like lincoln logs. I stack 3-4 rows sides by side, 8" apart. 4-5 ft high - 16-25' rows. I leave the wood out for 2 years before burning. The year I will burn it, I cover with a tarp to keep the snow and rain off of it.
This is some I brought in yesterday.View attachment 301232
We had snow a few days ago, but it rained hard with the temps in the low 50's. Since then, it is in the 20's during the day.
