First Choice vs. LP \'tiller

I have finally made the decision to go with the First Choice RTO 10-66. I was comparing it against the Land Pride RTA-2555 series rototiller.

Land pride is a great unit. I own the rotary mower and love it. The RTA-2555s are also built like a tank. I was able to negotiate $1800 for the Land Pride. That is a great price for a tiller of that quality.

The reason I have decided to go with First Choice is because the 10-66 is wider then my wheelbase…barely. The Land Pride would not have been. I have an L3010 with R4s and they need the 66” width. Second, the weight of the FC appeared to be consistent with the RTA-2555. First Choice appears to made as heavily as even the 25 series Land Pride(?). They also both use a #100 chain.

I believe parts availability will not be an issue. Several local tractor dealers would be more then willing to repair anything I could do to either unit.

I have not sent the check yet, any final comments before it goes in the mail?

Thank you!

Mark, what's the shiny (unpainted) little bar (or pipe) across the front of that tiller? I don't recall seeing that on a tiller before and can't think of what it's for.

It is a galvanized safety shield. Maschio, Howard, and others use the same thing. CE safety certification requires it when sold in Europe.

Re: First Choice vs. LP \'tiller

CCM will have one in DEC...... LOL I just have not had time. I've been selling them direct to dealers via personal viewings of the sample tillers at their place of businesses.

How can these be ordered? They look quite beefy.

Re: First Choice vs. LP \'tiller

Have you looked at the befco tillers yet? the t-50 or 60 series. They are very rugged built and offer, offset capability. Real nice unit. I am prejudice i guess cause i sell them but i also sell howard too. but i think dollar for dollar befco has a great product and they are also excellent to deal with. Try befco.com for there specs. or www.NewEnglandTractor.com
we have some specials on befco untill the end of the year that can be shipped anywhere in the us.

Hello--We have been selling FC from the beginning (3 yr) and have had no problems with the products and the quality cannot be surpassed--I think you have made a wise choice.--Ken Sweet
