First Day Home and I Put the Boomer 40 to Work !

Well the timing was perfect. When the morons who built the rear deck 25 years ago they forgot to support 4-5 key joists and 1/2 of our deck collapsed down almost a foot. The only thing holding up that part of the deck all these years were the top boards nailed down into all the joists.

Well anyway I needed a way to lift up 1/2 the deck so I could make the required repairs and today was the day I took delivery of my new Boomer 40 with loader. Thus I inched the loader up & over the railing, dropped a chain off the custom chain-hook bar I had made for the same size bucket and attached that chain to a nice towing "J" bar. The "J" bar was hooked under one of the fallen joist and in a minute flat the Boomer had the deck raised up ready for me to sink in a half dozen bolts. Mission accomplished in about an hour.

Oops! I see they do now, the Workmaster 25S. I don't recall seeing that available when I was shopping several years ago, so I'll assume they are new. Strange, the NH website shows the 25S with a belly mower.

Not a big deal, I've just always like Ford/New Holland tractors, had several back in my farming days. Not sure who makes them these days, but they still look nice!

No complaints with my Kubota, it's been an excellent machine so far.

Yes like you I really like NH tractors. I forget who makes them.....assembled here in the USA but all the various components from South Korea (for the most part I think). My complaint was not being able to get a belly mower on a smaller tractor like a 25 HP SCUT or smaller CUT but that had a cab. They simply do not make one.

I had ordered a 72" belly mower for my 54D that I just traded in but that tractor would absolutely shred that deck if I bumped it into the edge of a tree or stump etc by mistake. And that 54D at around 6000 pounds would NEVER even feel it happen. That scared me a whole bunch so got rid of the 72" and got a z-turn.

I just wish they did offer a smaller tractor with cab and belly mower like some others do.

Good stuff, made me smile, a man and his machine, lol. I have the 3045 since 2010 and have been grateful for the stuff I could do that would otherwise not get done. Do you have forks for it? Use the forks for brush and downfalls.

Nice, your 3045 & cab is a beauty for sure ! I have not been able to afford any new attachments for the new Boomer but a set of forks would probably be on the very top of the list of things to get. Would come in so handy. I am thankful I have my rear blade and a box grader and of course the FEL. It was so cool when 2 days ago I had to do the road again because of all the very heavy & steady rains we have been getting. It was about 31 degrees and I was inside with my T-Shirt with the heater on the lowest setting ready to crack open a side window :) I just wish this 1+ inches of rain we are getting today was snow !!!!!! Dangit, I want snow to play in. Have a Happy New Year.
