We decided to enroll our boy into private school at age 3 instead of waiting a year. Today was his first day. We have been talking about it with him and getting him all excited about it for the last couple of weeks. It must have worked because he went to his class and never shed a tear.

Waiting in the parking lot because we got there WAY to early.

No tears, no fussing just wondering why we're still bothering him.

Don't lie:). if your like me when I dropped my daughter off for the first time there were plenty of tears.......all coming from me.

I hung out across the street to make sure she was OK in the play ground. It was the very first time in her life she was away from Mom and Dad so I didn't know how she would handle it.

She was fine, I was the basket case.

My oldest daughter started school last year. I was definatly the one that was scared, not her.

Great looking kids, enjoy them while they are little. I still remember when my oldest started, I about couldn't stand it:eek:. I couldn't wait for the 3rd/last one to start:p. I blinked about twice and he graduated 2 years ago:eek:.

I guess I missed it, I started driving a schoolbus today. I got to be on the receiving end of a nervous dad(I known him for years)putting his baby on the bus for the first time:). It was really a neat moment.

Thanks for the nice replies y'all.

Its interesting that the majority of replies to this thread across many forums points to the first day of school being hard on the parents. Maybe I'm missing something, but I felt nothing but pride as I watched my boy walk into that classroom full of confidence and wonder.

:D Hate to break it to ya. But he is growing up. Growing up fast. Faster than you think and want. :D:D:D My NINE year old told me a week back that "Daddy, you just don't understand. You don't understand stress!."

I thought I would hear that when she was 13.:rolleyes: Unfortunately she does know about stress. :(

I can remember like yesterday they day my kids were born. :D:D

They grows up fast....;)

Later,
Dan
