Hey Gang,

I did a lot of reasearch before buying my NH TZ25DA a couple of weeks ago and you all helped me out so I wanted to provide a quick review.

I got a 60" mmm, 4' rotary cutter, and FEL.

I looked at Deere, Kubota, NH and Massey. The Massey and NH made the final cut and I chose the NH because of it's features and extra HP. So far I've got about 20 hrs and I'm EXTREMELY impressed. The MMM does an EXCELLENT job. I tried an XMark commercial mower on my 12 acre (4 mowed acres) property before I decided to go with a SCUT and the NH mower does every bit as good of a job once I got it leveled and adjusted. The tractor has excellent manuverability without the FEL. It's not very fun to mow with the FEL for fear of turning the bucket into something.

The Tractor runs the rotary cutter very well. I've mowed about 3 acres of wetland grass that was over 7 feet high in places. No problem. I've also mowed down bass wood saplings up to 2 inches thick with no problem. My cutter weighs 425 lbs and you want the FEL on for counter balance when using it.

The one thing I'm most pleasantly surprised with is the FEL. Most people told me I'd be dissapointed with a SCUT FEL, but this loader/tractor combo has really exeeded my expectations. I had my two rear tires filled with windshield wiper fluid which adds about 180 lbs of weight. That's been enough to use the bucket under any conditions so far except with a heaping bucket of dirt. With a 3/4 full bucket I'm fine. With the rotary cutter on the back, obviously I can use the FEL to its fullest capacity. I know the FEL lifts more that the listed 670 lbs.

I also plan to add a front blade for snow removal and a 3ph chipper/shredder in the next several months.

Pros - I think the extra HP over the other SCUT's is a BIG plus when running the rotary cutter and probably will be when I get the chipper. For runnning the MMM you don't need the extra power. The FWD is great. The controls are great. The handles on the fenders are great, I find myself using them ALL the time when working on side hills. The seat is very comfortable. The way the hood raises up and totally out of the way is great. Traction with filled turf tires is VERY impressive. I haven't lacked traction for anything. The lighting is great, mowing at night or dusk is very easy. Changing implements is absolutely fantastic. The FEL goes on and off in about 5 minutes. The MMM comes off in two minutes and back on in 5 minutes.

Cons - The hydro fan and filter are not protected at all without the MMM mounted. I zip tied a piece of 1/4 plywood to the MMM mounting brackets to protect the fan when I'm using the brush mower. The safety switch in the seat is ridiculous (must be in neutral with park brake engaged pto disengaged and have the PTO lever moved to rear PTO only to get off). I disabled it.

Thanks for all your help,

JamieB

Congrats on the new machine. Not too many TZ owners here, but there are a couple. Enjoy & be safe.
