Actually, the first lawn mowing in central-south Ohio was March 25th and about 10 days ahead of last year.
We mow about 24 times and it's "fun" for maybe the first 15 times.

When do others mow in their location?

Some years about same time third week of March this year have not yet but probably Saturday. It had been mild here but dry. Frogs just started mating in the pond this week

Some years the last of March, some years it's the middle to end of April.
This year, the grass could use it, but with all the rain we have gotten/are forecast to get it will be another 10-14 days before I can get the tractor out without sinking.

I used to live in central-north Maine and dreaded those first few mowings with the bugs. Tourists from elsewhere have no idea how annoying it can be, especially when they come up for only two weeks in August.

Well...... all the snow is gone, the grass is green, we are into the spring rains - I would guess around the middle of April.

Year round! Once a month for December, January, and February. Every 3 weeks for March, April, October, November and every two weeks May through September.

I'm with CajunRider. You Northern Boys need to come South. I did the first mow 6 weeks ago and now I am already at 2x per week.

Yeah, you guys are tough. Would you believe I actually mowed grass in "winter" near Lake Charles 45 years ago. The area was great, especially the southern hospitality and great southern women. You may mow grass the wrong time of the year but you have lots of other good stuff going on.

I usually mow at least once around middle of March. This year it is late. Had a veryi hard winter and wet spring. Set a record for 'wettest March ever" locally (Pullman, Wa) just Wed. Pasture has needed 'spot' mowing for several days but I can't get in there, standing water everyi place the grass needs cutting. Got a wet basement also. Had one when I first bought here in 1976, put in a sump pump and drain, dry ever since. Now I have an active spring running right into the sump.
