I'm always one to buy used; cars, houses, boats, camper, etc. This tractor is the first significant item I've ever bought new. I'm looking forward to doing more work with it, then work to it! I used the MF $500 instant rebate and got a great deal on a Woods Rotary Cutter (RC4) ($550), I also negotiated the thumb, and the service manual as part of the total deal. I have a Bush Hog Grader Box (SBX48) on order, the BXpaned piranha blade arriving tomorrow, and a 3 point drawbar/receiver on its way from eBay. I filled the rear tires with "beet juice" aka rimguard, (each tire weighed 130lbs afterwards).
I have 17 hours on it already, mostly with the hoe and pulling trees. This thing is a beast and I couldn't be happier.
Only issue thus far (and it was an easy fix), about 30% of the zerks on the hoe and FEL were less than finger tight....quick fix and notified the dealer they may want to pass that on to Massey...sounds like an assembly step being missed..
I also let a big root get in my front wheel and rip my valve stem off.....this tractor is going to be living in the woods so I may just weld up the valvestem holes and put them on the inside of the wheels....the way they should be.
I am thinking of putting some led bar lights tucked under the ROPS, I already removed the flashers/taillights as I about ripped them off several times in tight situations. Figure I'll plow snow with the FEL and grader box attached and some extra lights won't hurt if I'm plowing before sunrise.
