I'm getting ready to sign the paperwork tomorrow on my first new tractor in 27 years.

Being as this is a huge deal for me, I hope I'm choosing the right one. I've been a long time fan of the Manheim built 6000 series JDs but can't justify spending $64K for a 90 hp. 6430 and not even getting a loader out of the deal.

I've got the legitimate need for 90 hp. plus being as I'm pulling a batwing, plows, sprayers, you name it etc. over large acreage and like the powershift and accomodations in the Kubota Xs.

I'm trying not to overkill even though an aerovator and round baler are in future plans so I've opted out of the 125X and settled on the 108X with a LA 1301 SL1 loader, 3rd remote and 3rd function valve for my grapple.

My main concern is that the 125X is still basically a simple 5 cylinder tier II engine and the 108X is a more complex fully electonic common rail exhaust gas recirculated tier III engine. The plus factor for the redesigned V3800 in the 108 is that it boasts a 10% efficiency gain.

I'm old school in that I still remember how we turned up the old Cummins PT pumps with a spring and a button. I'm also a dog that learns new tricks pretty easy. It's just a shame that the new technology has relegated the shade tree to the dust bin of history now that everything needs to be plugged in to be properly diagnosed.

To that end, I am concerned about the reliablity factor of these new Kubota Tier III engines. This aint grandpa's 4020 anymore.

I assume you are dealing with Ewald? I had a pleasant experience in Seguin with Clayton. 2 service calls (1 50 hr service) with no problems. I am pleased with my purchase.
Here's my baby:

A friend in the panhandle steered me to the 200cu in. non-turbo M6040, He insist the engine is "as solid as one can purchase"...so far he's right. For now it's all I need. The rear wiper will be a must.
u have hogs in Gonzales co? lol

Actually, I bought it from Normangee Tractor in Normangee TX., a little town in the brazos valley northeast of Aggie Land where the only businesses are tractor dealerships and I kid you not, the volume of tractors exceeds the town's population. It really blows your mind when you first drive in there. Everybody who's been through there calls it tractor town.

Normangee is the largest single location dealership by volume in the world for Kubota. That town is nothing but a sea of orange lining both sides of that two lane running through it. By April, their inventory usually swells to around 650 units on hand. I'm dealing with Cliff over there and the experience has been great from the git go. Honest, forthright and no nonsense is the best way I can describe them.

Radio-freebie. Bale spear, 3rd loader control valve and additional remotes at cost. Loader was a little cheaper. Tractor was over 2K cheaper and sitting on the Kubota's updated heavy duty rims and Titan radials instead of light weight rims and bias plys. No fun and games with the financing and free delivery 180 miles to my place. I'm like a kid waiting for Santa! It gets here next week. I hope all that high tech tier III pollution gear behaves. It is supposed to be 10% more efficient than the 105X it replaced. I'll post some pictures in a new string when I figure out how.

Man your rig is one slick setup. It is not at all what I expected. I really like that flip up bucket. It has the same styling as the 9540s on the nose.

Hogs? Yah we got a few of those LOL but they are kind of like nomads. You won't see them for a while and then all of a sudden all your pastures are ripped up. 10 years ago, I didn't know what a wild hog looked like but they are a mighty tasty menace. Smoked over pecan for about 10 hours at 300 with dry rub and a vinegar based sop. That's what I'm talking about!!
