Looking again
The weather here in Western PA is fantastic this weekend. First time a lot of us around here can get out and use the new toys. Getting familiar with the new tractor. Here's what I did today.

1. Hooked up the new J Bar rotary cutter for the first time. Little wrangling one way or the other but everything went smoothly.

2. Dropped the MMM for the first time. Used the FEL to lift the front end up and that really helped make it go quickly. Then I proceded to clean the deck from all the mud that had built up from my prior escapades (Getting stuck in the yard last week when I went to feed the critters). Greased everything that I could see.

3. Used to J Bar for about two hours or so to clear a new spot for a small orchard that I am going to put in.

4. Dropped the cutter and picked up the boxblade and regraded the driveway again. This time I used the teeth for the first passes and then I flippped them upside down and used just the blades to get a really smooth finish. Worked great.

5. Hauled a bunch of yard debris around in the FEL.

6. Hooked the BH up again so I can dig some holes tomorrow.

From a person that has never owned a true tractor before, I never knew how much fun working could be. Another nice day is in the works for tomorrow, I already have a plan for tomorrow. Dig some holes, mow some grass, etc. I will have to post some pics tomorrow. Always forget to post before pics because I am so eager to start.

I use the scarifiers for the first run as well to rip out the potholes, then raised them for final grade. I use 3/4 inch crusher run gravel. If I didn't use the scarifiers the potholes would reappear after the next heavy rain. It looks very nice when finished. I couldn't wait to do it again. I had to wait, and wait, and wait...After about 2 months I couldn't take it any more and did the driveway again just for the seat time.:)
I find the best time to do it is after a light rain, lets you see the low spots where the water collects, and keeps the dust down. I also angle the boxblade slightly to one side to get a crown on the driveway. It also helps to get rid of the water.

Here's todays jobs.

Dug a hole just for the heck of it. Well I ended putting some stuff I wanted rid of in it, but it was more for BH practice.
Filled in same hole I just dug. Yes again for the heck of it. Cleared and leveled the area.

Disconnected FEL and BH.
Remounted MMM and then mowed about 3 acres in about 2 hours. I just can't get over how quickly and nicely this machine mows. It puts the little JD lawn tractor to shame. It mowed high grass without bogging and did everything I asked it to. My wife actually said to me, without me prodding her, how nice and smooth the grass looks and how quickly I was mowing.

First fatality, broken light on the ROPS, my own stupid fault. I will pay for that, and then I thought, if I fix it won't I just break it again?

Pics to follow.

I hope your wife appredciates all the HARD work your putting in.;) Just don't let her catch you waxing it, otherwise her car is next. Nice photos. In your last picture, is that a fox on the right side of the pond?

It is a fox, well sort of. Its a 3-D archery fox target.

The tractor did get awfully dirty this past weekend. Have to wait for when the wife is away to wash it and put the first coat of wax on it.
