Kubota Grand L 3240 cab BH 92 backhoe
It comes home tomorrow. I wanted to upgrade my B3030 cab but didn't like the new B series cabs, I wanted a Grand L cab but they were always too large to fit in my garage. What I really wanted was a Grand L in a B3030 size. Can't be done? Can't? Maybe it can?
So at the dealer we swapped the tires with L 3800 tires. I wanted to get a BH 77 backhoe to go with it but right now they're backordered. The dealer offered me a very slightly used (hardly used) BH 92 backhoe with the hydraulic thumb installed for the same price. OK I'll do that. So here it is - a Grand L 3240 with the smaller tires, a totally different size tractor. Even though it comes home tomorrow I still can exchange the tires with the larger ones if I want in the next month or so. I'll see how I like it. I don't really want a large tractor; the tires really bring the look of this tractor down to more of what I was looking for. A Grand L cab with HST plus transmission, larger capacity loader dust free cab in a smaller size.
This dealer - Ahearn Equipment in Spencer, Mass. - really goes above and beyond what is expected. They took my B3030cab in trade and someone is going to end up with a very nice well taken care of B3030 cab with Woods 7ft backhoe with a few extra options you can't get elsewhere.
All the people at Ahearn Equipment are excellent, really a different experience for me. Business is good at Ahearn and now I understand why. Also some pictures of the tires to show the difference. I'll post some side by side pictures once it's home. Shown is side by side with the B2650 same size as my b3030. A good idea or a mistake time will tell.

Nice tractor....... great idea with the smaller rubber. I'll be curious to see how tall it is once you get it home. I'll back you up on the Ahearn brothers...... they have been good to deal with. I can't buy a tractor there because of the sales tax, but they are good people.

Interesting.

Personally im not sure about the lowering, especially with the subframe... But thats just me. I want more ground clearance not less. If your not going over any rough terrain than I can see it not being an issue, and may actually help on sloped ground.

I thought the same thing over and over, till I measured my B3030 backhoe subframe, it's only six inches off the ground at the backhoe, had it for 5 years never gave it a thought till now.
I loose about 2 inches with these tires. I'll try it see what happens. Thanks Scooby might be more stable.

Looks nice. Did swapping tires reduce the width? I don't know about the 3240 but my 4240 felt really tippy with the rear wheels set in the narrow position. You could add spacers if needed.
