Dirt Moving First Pond

/ First Pond #21
If this is as big as it's going to be, then I'd say you're right.
For a larger pond, assuming he had a way to keep the water out, it would've made more sense to dig his way into & out of it with the FEL and a TB.

In that gumbo stuff ? Love to see you try.

That's why I said, "if he had a way to keep the water out"...

If the ground is constantly that soft, then no.

Yes, when the young guy cleaned out my neighbor's pond he made darn sure he was down to rock / ledge before he eased that big CAT315 down the steep bank of the pond. That made both my neighbor, and I happy since I doubt that we could pull him out with our tractors. (Kubota B2620, and Massey 1529) :D :D

Not with your two tractors together, a couple of pick-em-up trucks in 4-LO, and a small boy! :D

Yes, I don't know what that CAT weighs, but I wouldn't want to get one stuck. The little pond is about 36' X 80', and 10'-18 feet deep so he was in a pretty good hole too. He dug that out in 10 hours of working time.
