Dealer First Post - Dealer advice in Central Texas?

Greetings to everyone.

I'm a new member, but I've been reading here for months. Thanks very much to all of you who post here! You really do give more great information than I've been able to find anywhere else. Way more. Special thanks to txdon who steered me here and has given encouragement and advice.

I think I'm about to buy a Kubota L4400 HST and FEL with Quick-Attach Coupler (Skid Loader Type) . There are several dealers within 100 miles of my place and the price varies by about $2,000 from highest to lowest. I'd like to spend the least possible but I sure want a dealer I can count on if I have problems. Also, buying close to home is something I like.

So the question is, does anyone have a dealer they would recommend (or avoid) in the central Texas area around Lee County. That would include the Bryan, Brenham, La Grange, Seguin, New Braunfels, Austin, Taylor, Temple, and Rockdale areas.

Any advice would be great and a PM would be fine.

have you looked at the Kiotis in Paige? friend of mine bought one there - he loves it -- I drove it once --pretty impressed.

You might look at Normangee Tractor. They advertise in the Bryan American Classified, The Eagle and elsewhere. They always seem to have special pricing on the standard Ls. I bought my L3130 out of Houston because Normangee was too busy to accomadate the unique fit out I wanted. They always have a large stock of Kubota models. I have bought parts from them over the years and have no compliants. I believe that most of their business is in the Ls and Ms. I don't know how they do with Bs and BXs.

They are up TX21 and OSR for you. Wave as you go by FM2223-I am about 2 miles from there.

I ended up buying a Kioti DK45SE from a dealer in Waco but I shopped the Kubota dealer in Taylor and they had the L4400 in stock and one of the best prices.

I got a Bx24 from Landford Equipment in Austin earlier this year. My neighbor picked up a B7800 a couple of years ago. We both talked to Allen David. He knows his product and will give you a fair deal. Our machines are fairly new so no service yet except 50 hr., but I used them for parts for my old B7100 for 10 years and never have had a complaint. The thing never broke to where it needed to go in for work. You are looking at a lot bigger tractor, but they have a big inventory of those.

It looks like the best price/location is gonna be Taylor Equipment in Taylor, TX. A small dealer with a good reputation. Good prices too.

I'm planning to post another thread that describes what I'm planning to do and what equipment I think I'll need. All comments and advice appreciated!

A few months ago I purchased my BX 24. I got prices from where my Dad lives in Alexandria Louisiana and where I am near Austin TX. I price Taylor Equipment, Landford in Austin and Landford in Marble Falls.

Taylor and Landford Austin were near the same price while Alexandria was high. Marble Falls was a better price by about $600 If I recall correctly and I got a 6.25% tax rate rather than the 8.25 I would have had in Austin. Not sure why but I suppose they are outside the city limits.

They trated me well and seemed to be a good group to work with.
