Tractor
RK 24TLB with Grapple
Hey Everyone! First post to the forum, but I'm a long term watcher. The (boss) has given me the OK to get a RK-37 this coming spring with backhoe and grapple! So I'm in my glory and on the edge of my seat waiting. I only have seven acres of land to play with but have many uses for this tractor. Five of those acres are wooded and boarder a large creek that keeps taking ground every time we get high water. The ground is quite flat for Pa., so it needs drainage in spots, highs knocked down, lows raised up, some trees removed and landscaping all over. I'm retired now so this will become my new hobby improving the property. The one thing that I forgot to check when we were at RK was the height of the ROPS when it was folded down and height of backhoe for getting into the garage. We have a standard 84" height door so if someone could tell me if it will fit or do I need to add a taller door at the back end of the building? Thanks for the great forum and all the information that you are willing to share with the public.

To the TBN forum digdirty. It is about time you joined.

Congrats on the "soon to be" new tractor. Are you getting the "S" or "H" model?

According to their brochure, it is 94.5" with ROPS up.

Once your fold ROPS down, you should be good to go, as for the BH, you can always stick down until you get past the garage door and put it back up once inside.....For safety....I would put a note on your dash board to "CHECK BACKHOE HEIGHT" that way, before you pull out of garage, you will know to lower stick if you did put it back up once in garage.....or your will be taking your tractor to WYOTECH to get it fixed....lol....best of luck to you ....

And the max transport height for the backhoe is 85.2". So, depending on how deep your garage is, it could be extended which would lower that value. Or lower it, park it, then raise it back up. I don't know how tall it is with the ROPS down, but its a lot more than 12", so that should probably work as well. Congrats on the go ahead and welcome to the forum!!

Sorry coastie! I was typing while you were sending. Good tip on the note. I know I'd forget.

No problem, heck I even put a note on my dash "GLOW PLUGS" and a note on my side box to "Bleed Hydraulics" when taking implement off....I am either OCD or I just love using my label maker.....lol

Good idea on the note on dash. I just had the pole barn garage built last year and wouldn't want to customize the steel above the door yet! It does have 10' ceilings in it and 30' in length, so I can play some with the backhoe after it's inside. I'm getting the shuttle shift model unless someone talks me out of it and into the hydro. My thinking on this is more pto. hp. and less cost when I need a new clutch down the road. Its a little cheaper up front also. Backhoe transport height 85.2" - door height 84" OH BOY!! What's the odds of having a boo-boo here!

You won't have the backhoe on it all the time so it is only an occasional concern. That said, I would have to be really careful or I would get distracted and do some accidental re-arranging with the backhoe mast. Notes are fine, but you will get used to seeing them. My suggestion is to suspend a pipe from chains below door height to give you something to hit before you actually do some damage. Maybe hang some bells on it so you can be sure to hear it. Don't ask me how I know about needing to do that...

What's the note for regarding glow plugs? I want to make sure in not missing something here.
