Mark, the threads on the joystick and the jam nut that locks it into the joystick valve are 7/16" - 20 threads per inch. That is the same size as the T2230 (class III) tractors that have a slightly different joystick and also a deluxe joystick that will bolt right up to your valve. The deluxe joystick has a wire and buttons that would not be used on your tractor, but you might like either of these joysticks more.
I think if I were in your position, I would not spend $100+ dollars on another joystick, but rather, I'd go to a welding shop and get them to make me a rod with the right threads on each end and try it out. Heck, you might cut a section of 7/16-20 all-thread and give it a try before going to something more durable. You also might take your joystick and get it heated and bent to a shape more to your liking. It's really easy to remove the joystick. If you lift the rubber boot, all you do is loosen the jam nut and then turn the joystick until it unscrews.
