First Request - 3 PT Hitch Spreader

Anyone have any experience with a 3PT hitch spreader (i.e., how effective they are, what size, etc.). I have a "new" pull behind that I used in the past with my old tractor but the idea of having it as part of the tractor (& PTO driven) makes a lot of sense. I will use it for pelletized Lime and fertilizer (6~8x/Yr.) for 2 acres of lawn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've had one for 3yr's, I bought it at {Farm&Fleet} work's great. Payed around 300 was at the store last week, they'er 350 now. It does a very good job with throwing, a pattern. I use the pellet lime every spring. When I'am done with it I wash it out real good and spray it down with 2 full can's of WD-40 and it still look new!!!

I bought a 3 pt spreader last year. I love it. It's a Tru-Flo and holds 500lbs of whatever. Load up the hopper and off you go.

Clean up, as Camshaft said, is the key. When I'm done I wash it out really well and then oil and grease everything.

Just started using the broadcaster that LandPride has and it seems to work great. I spread 3.5 tons of powdered lime last saturday, 700#'s at a time, and it seemed effortless. The broadcaster seems very well built and it performed better than I expected. The powdered lime is probably about the hardest material there is to spread and it spread 700#'s in about 45 seconds. I purchased the larger size and it was around $475 through my dealer. You can look it up at www.landpride.com.
