Well I got it home Sunday night, and easily got it unloaded. I wasn't able to pick up all the attachments I bought, as I was overweight on both the trailer and the bed of my truck. Needless to say it was a long ride back through the mountains of Western Virginia, carrying 2000 pounds over my vehicle's limit.
Anyways, that Deutz starts right up, and runs like a top. Implements are very easy to connect. Love the grapple bucket. Drive control treadle is very easy to use, and I am quickly becoming adept at it. Played with the mini hoe a bit. That will take some practice.
Now for the bad news. Something is wrong with the pump that controls the drive. When I stop on a hill, I can't get it moving again. Pump seems to get stuck in bypass for whatever reason. After speaking with Terry at Power Trac, the tractor needs to be returned so that they can fix it. Well it is a nine hour drive down there, so this is probably the biggest reason not to get a Power Trac. This problem existed when it left the factory, but they didn't find it in their QC check. Anyways, I knew the risks, and that's just what happens some times. It is my experience that hydraulic valves and pumps tend to have a high infant mortality rate, and once they get broken in they tend to last forever. It is just too bad that there isn't an easier way to get this thing fixed. I guess that there are too many things to check and set up when replacing the pump, plus the thing is brand new.
One other beef that I have, is that the seat is not very comfortable. Most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat on in any tractor. ****, a $500 tractor from Walmart has a better seat in it. That thing will be coming out eventually for some sort of upgrade. When I took the teat drive, I thought that the demo unit's seat was worn out, but no, that is the way they are....
When I return the tractor I will pick up the mower, the blade, and the tiller, and let you guys know how they work.
