I almost had a heart attack yesterday.
I bought the fluids to do the 50 hour service on my 2615 HST & it came to about $200.
The fluid filters alone were like $20sumthing for one, $30sumthing for the other. What in the world!
The tractor is still under warrenty so I'm playing thier gamefor now but next service I figure I can save at least $120.

When I did my 50 hr. service in 2005, I paid a total of $91.05 for 4 filters and diesel engine oil. Something sounds awry, Wyld Bill. Did you replace your hydro fluid at this time? My dealer said it was not necessary to do so until the 200 hr. service, which I did. Even then, my parts total was just over $100.

I was told by the dealer I bought my CK25 from the first service would be appox. 250$ for filters and new oils plus HST. He doesn't charge labour on first service.
I thought that was fair,my new ford ranger went in for 30,000 km service the bill was 209$ and there are no grease fittings and it only holds 5 litres of oil.
I guess as the saying goes if we want to play we have to pay..

..........or........you can pay me now:( , or pay me later.
My 6520 ran over $100 just in oil and hyd. filters for it's 50 hour. That didn't count fuel filters They cost $39.88 for two. But I am used to high filter prices. My pickup's fuel filter costs $23.00. Miss a fuel filter R&R on it and it may cost you a $2500.00 injector pump. So like I said, you can buy filters, or pay a mechanic big bucks to change an injector pump or an engine or tranny overhaul. hugs, Brandi

I'm in the landscape business, during the summer months I don't have the time to do my own service, and I can't afford the down time. In my case its good insurance to have the dealer check my machine out and I trust them to spot any future problem and fix it...after all its still under warranty...:)

Double check your dealer's work. I had a minor problem with a dropped fan shroud causing damage to the fan. The service man did not put the fan belt back into the pulley, but in front of it. Miraculously it didn't slip off before I corrected the problem.

Yeah I misread the manual & changed the hydro fluid too even though that didn't have to be done for another 150 hours.
Good thing is though now at 250 hours I just do everything at once rather than change hyro fluid at 200 then everything else at 250.

I think I can cross over the filters at least for cheaper ones that are just as well built or better.

I went to the WIX website and used their cross reference thingy for tractors and found what I needed. My FarmTrac was not in there database but the Montana equivalent was. I paid $18.00 for the hydraulic filter, $12.00 cheaper than the dealer wanted for the FT equiv..

For the first 50 hour service of the 6500, the dealer changed engine oil and oil filter plus the two fuel filters (filters A$27.50 each). In the handbook the routine service schedule also recommends the following must be done at 50 hours
change transmission oil
clean transmission strainer
replace power steering filter element

I quizzed the dealer and they said that Mahindra had told them that this was not necessary and am waiting for Mahindra Australia to get back to me.
Would any other owner operators please let me know what their 1st service involved?? Thanks in advance

PS According to the handbook, the hydraulic oil should be changed every 12 months/1000 hours whichever is the sooner for the 00 series

I always use the OEM filters for the duration of the warranty time. If there are any problems and a replacement filter is on it could void the warranty. Not all filters are made the same and some are better than others. The OEM ones have to meet the requirements for the application they were made for. After the warranty time is done I some times use good high quality replacement filters like Baldwin. On the HST filters I use the OEM one to make sure it is the right micron size for the systems requirements.
