First snake for the year.

Seven days into spring and have had a short run of sunny days, picked up a pile of fallen branches to pile up to burn off and 4' of unhappy brown snake fell out when I dropped them.
I dropped them about 3' from the raised bucket and not sure if the fall killed it or the bucket dropping on him
Never seen one here before and they are an aggressive nasty snake, they are protected but this one wasn't.
The kookaburras will make sure he is gone by the morning.

I am generally a considerate person in regards to wildlife
I struggle with that in regards to snakes....

Man - I would not be foolin' with that snake - even dead. Second most venomous land snake in the world. An EXTREMELY HIGH LD50 rating.

I didn't, didn't even know he was there until I opened the jaws on the bucket.
The birds will enjoy the feed, kookaburras are part of the kingfisher family except they discovered steroids, they pick up live snakes and other animals and smash their heads into a rock with their huge beaks, even dead snakes.
We get mainly tiger snakes at our place, venom is worse but they are not as aggressive.

Not down here, too cool, they like the warm end like Queensland and Northern Territory.
