We finally got some snow, not much, just over two inches. It was enough I didn't feel like a fool out playing on the tractor, for the first time, in snow. Took it from 5.6 hours to 11.8 hours, with a Land Pride RB0560 rear blade and the FEL. Did some of my neighbor driveways and WOW, this thing is capable. We had a few days of ice, before the snow and everything was super slick.
I was a bit confused by the fuel gauge. It has seven lights, but they are all get smaller as the fuel gets lower. While grading the street (my neighborhood is a bunch of hills), the gauge went from 3 bars to two. I didn't have a fuel can of diesel, yet, so I decided to drive a mile, to the station. Took me around 45 minutes, round trip. Would have been faster, but I'm still in break-in hours and was constantly varying the RPM's. I was able to make it in H and 2wd, all the way to the station, up some pretty steep hills and on ice and snow.
I put 3.944 gallon in and three lights were solid, but a fourth turned on, just as I got off to get the fuel. It had 8.9 hours, at that time.
While working driveways, I was able to blade and scoop in H, a lot of the time, but used L on most of the driveways.
Toward the end, as the temps dropped into the teens, I had difficulty getting up the last driveway. When I started, and it was covered in snow, it was fine. The last few times I tried, I had to get a roll at it, from the bottom.
Putting on the 3pt was a bit of a hassle, as I had not done it, before. Once I got it on, I realized I had no idea how it should be hooked up. I saw something about 2 inches of sway, in the manual, but it had more than that, as tight as I could get it. Anyone else find that? I just put the top link in the middle hole, as I didn't know what angle it should be at. I got it functional and level and all the lock nuts tight.
When I got one, it had 11.8 hours, and was still showing full.
I'm excited for a real snow!!!!
One fubar-forgot to put the ROPS down, when I got home...
