We finally got some snow, not much, just over two inches. It was enough I didn't feel like a fool out playing on the tractor, for the first time, in snow. Took it from 5.6 hours to 11.8 hours, with a Land Pride RB0560 rear blade and the FEL. Did some of my neighbor driveways and WOW, this thing is capable. We had a few days of ice, before the snow and everything was super slick.

I was a bit confused by the fuel gauge. It has seven lights, but they are all get smaller as the fuel gets lower. While grading the street (my neighborhood is a bunch of hills), the gauge went from 3 bars to two. I didn't have a fuel can of diesel, yet, so I decided to drive a mile, to the station. Took me around 45 minutes, round trip. Would have been faster, but I'm still in break-in hours and was constantly varying the RPM's. I was able to make it in H and 2wd, all the way to the station, up some pretty steep hills and on ice and snow.
I put 3.944 gallon in and three lights were solid, but a fourth turned on, just as I got off to get the fuel. It had 8.9 hours, at that time.

While working driveways, I was able to blade and scoop in H, a lot of the time, but used L on most of the driveways.

Toward the end, as the temps dropped into the teens, I had difficulty getting up the last driveway. When I started, and it was covered in snow, it was fine. The last few times I tried, I had to get a roll at it, from the bottom.

Putting on the 3pt was a bit of a hassle, as I had not done it, before. Once I got it on, I realized I had no idea how it should be hooked up. I saw something about 2 inches of sway, in the manual, but it had more than that, as tight as I could get it. Anyone else find that? I just put the top link in the middle hole, as I didn't know what angle it should be at. I got it functional and level and all the lock nuts tight.

When I got one, it had 11.8 hours, and was still showing full.

I'm excited for a real snow!!!!

One fubar-forgot to put the ROPS down, when I got home...

Glad you had a good time. Snow here has not been much. Glad to have a BX to deal with it.

Plowing snow with a BX-25 and back blade brings back cold memories.

Used my JD 2025 in the snow the first time with FEL and RB. Only about 4" so far; more coming down. Took care of it in about 45 minutes.

Can finally steer now in snow with this one again. The very lemony 1025 that I had for nearly 2 years had no steering brakes like this one and the 4010 I have before it.

Supposed to get maybe 20" more. Be a lot more FEL work tomorrow. For these kinds of snows, I wish I had a rear blower like a friend of mine has in Winchester (with an old Kubota).

This JD is probably quite similar to the Kubota you have or more nearly like the new B model that I would have bought had the dealership actually had them in this area.

Nikerret that sounds just like me the first year I got mine. FEL and rear blade 0560. Had so much snow that I had a continiuos 5' banks running on both sides of my drive. 2nd year bought a front snowplower to try to cut down the 2hours every time it snowed, worked good on most snows. 3rd year, this year, picked up a gently used front blade. Loving this last setup, the best. I still use the rear blade too, back in to clear a path big enough to back up again and drop the front blade and push everything out.

The 3pt used to be a pain in the but, used too. I got Pats quick hitch because of that rear blade. The pin widths are too short for other quick hitches. Then replaced the turnbuckles with Hodges telescopic stabilizers. Used to take minutes to hookup a rear implement, now seconds. Heres his video, has his email in the comments if you want to reach out to him. One of the best improvements you could do!!
