Hello everyone! This is my first post, long time reader but finally trying to make a decision on which tractor I am going to purchase next year. As of now I believe that I am going to end up with the M5660SUHD 4x4. Added options would be 2nd remote for the rear to accommodate top and tilt, 3rd function for grapple and canopy. What I am in question about is the different R1 tire selections they have when you build one out on the Kubota website, anyone have any insight on that it would be great. Tractor alone is $32100

These are the add-ons so far that I have been quoted.

Armstrong BGR72-6 Grapple $1600
Landpride SGC1060 Grapple $2824
Wicked Grapple 55" $2490 73"$2631

Landpride cutter RCF2772 $3000
Landpride cutter RCR1872 $2575 / $2780

Landpride BB2572 $1195
Landpride BB3578 $1779
Armstrong Double Grader Blade $1150

Is the 3rd function something I should attempt myself or let the dealer install it and same goes with the 2nd remote. It already comes with 1 set installed. I will be curious as to what next year brings with rebates and dealer incentives.

Tractor will be used to "clear" but not like a dozer our wooded property and maintain the grass as well as dirt work. We purchased 11 acres 2 years ago and things are moving at a snails pace without a tractor. Only others that I have considered were MX5100/5200, Utility size LS, possibly a kioti but don't know anything about them. John Deere 5055E or Mahindra which I have looked at a few times.

I am no stranger to a tractor, grew up on them my entire life so the basics of tractor ownership and operating are not a problem. Thanks for any advice or help that you can give.

Based on your self analysis of your tractor experiences, I'd say add the hydraulics yourself. Try to get the kits "thrown in" on the deal. The kits are what Kubota refers to as "Whole Goods". They come with everything you need and detailed instructions with pictures. If you have basic tools you can do the install yourself and save some bucks. Or you can let the dealer install them and pay his shop. Either way, get the 3rd function and as many rear remotes as are available. I have 3 on my M9540 and use them all.

Keep us posted on your decision and purchase.

Welcome to TBN.

Thanks Richard, I work for Chevron Phillips in the chemical field so installing should be the issue its my general luck with how a project starts and finishes that concerns me. Would you use the "Kubota" 3rd or something like a WR Long 3rd. Already decided to purchase the Top and Tilt separate and install that on my own. What ties up 3 sets of remotes? Was curious because in the future I would like a 12' Batwing for maintaining the ditch behind the house.

I prefer factory stuff. The controls are where they belong and it's all designed to fit with no bulk bolted on top of the fender, etc.

Yes, buy your TnT separately, not thru the Kubota dealer.

With TnT you are going to want to ultimately use a Quick Hitch. If so, you'll leave it on the tractor all the time. That ties up 2. So any attachment that needs hydraulics will require uncoupling something or removing the QH. I have a Box Blade with hydraulic scarifiers. I definitely use the TnT when using the Box Blade. So if I only had 2 rear remotes I wouldn't have any left to run the sacrifiers with. I've also got a hydraulic angle 3pt snow blade. Also have a hydraulic lift wheeled disc. :)

Ok that makes sense, don't think I will have a problem with snow it was 87 yesterday in the Houston area......Ready for this year to be over with so I can move forward to making a purchase. Do you have any opinions on the grapples that I have listed or recommend any other?

I'm not in Texas, still, I would describe the M5660 as a 'HOSS'.

Sorry, I can't help you with the Grapple decision. I made mine. Someone will chime in here soon with Grapple opinions, they are rampant here (Grapple opinions). :)

You mentioned a batwing. If you have TnT installed, you'll need a third rear remote to run the batwing.

HAHA yea its a little larger then the standard CUT or SCUT that most would buy with 11 acres to deal with. I don't want to be wishing I would have bought bigger and to be honest its not but about 4-5k more then a L4701 and a much more capable tractor at that.

I went from an L to an M. They are simply designed for different purposes, thus the difference in classification CUT/Utility. You will get a LOT of bang for your 5K bucks.

You might want to check out Everything Attachments for your grapple. From what I've seen here on TbN, they make good products at a fair price, or so it seems. No personal experience, though.
