I sold my boat and am buying a td24da. The dealer here in Alaska has been and is very helpful and friendly. This goes a long way with me. I have looked at Kubota and Deere but found myself at the New Holland dealer more often. This is my first tractor if i dont count a 1940 9n ford i never used for anything other than to drive in circles. A toy and nothing else.
This tractor will be different. I am going to do tilling in my area. I work at a rental yard part time. I have been with this company for 18 years most of it full time untill i decided to go for the money and work offshore on an oil platform. Now i work at the rental yard because i like it not cause i have to be there. Where i am going with this is the rental market for tillers is very busy. We no longer rent tractor tillers anymore since Honda does not sell riding equipment. We are a Honda dealer.
We get many calls daily looking for a small tractor to till with. Most of these people do not have a garden, they are just redoing or starting a lawn or etc. I do not want to rent my tractor but will be more than happy to till for them.
Another interesting thing about my area is that there have been about 1100 new home built in the last 5 years. None of them were sold with yards. I am seriously looking at the t5 Harley power rake. Most of these yard have been dozer smoothed but that is all.
What size tiller can i run on the 24DA? Has anyone out there used the Harley power rake? I will have a loader on the tractor first thing. I may get a box rake and a post hole auger before i leave the dealership. On a side note The dealer is selling the 24da with a loader for $15,300.00 I live in Alaska so the price may be higher than the states due to freight charges. I would be interested in the cost for people south of Alaska. Sorry for the long post, they wont all be this way, just the first one. I placed this post in the buying price forum also. Not sure where it should go, I'm learning /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You are going to love your TD24DA tractor. This tractor is the neatest thing. I have more fun on it and an able to get things done that suprise me. I think you are getting a good price! I paid 16,300 for mine in southern CA. The gearmore box scraper was another 740. The combination of a box scraper and the front end loader is the best for me. I am currently digging back into a hillside. I back up the hill and come down with the box scraper rippers. I also have a tooth bar on my front bucket. I have a lot of rocks on the property here. I have moved tons of rocks with this lillte tractor. The big ones I usually push and roll them where I want them. I am not sure what a power rake is??? I do have a post hole digger.

Send a private message to TBN member Legion. He lives in Anchorage and has a TC24. He should be able to help you with buying a New Holland in Alaska.

Rowski has a Harley rake, I think it is the T8 model. He used it on his NH2120 and posted some great pictures of its end results. Do a search on his posts in attachments. I have a Harley Pro 8, the older style with the 8' double rollers. They have the horizontal bars on the bottom roller. The T6 should be a great fit for you. Tiller size depends on HP and I am not familiar with the NH line or tractors. Most sites will give you tiller HP requirements. Best wishes.

What size tiller can i run on the 24DA?

Greg, I run a TC24D with a 50" tiller and it has enough power to make full depth passes through sod. I'd say you could go a little bigger on the tiller size and still make full depth passes the first time, but I would not want to go much bigger (maybe 6" inches). Lots of folks run larger tillers and make multiple passes to get down to full depth, personally I want enough power to do the job right the first time, but if you are only going half depth then you could probably go to something as large as 60" or 62" wide with the TC24.
