Five Hours and already a hole in radiator

I just purchased a JD 2305 and I have a whole in the back of the radiator with only 5 hrs on it. I dont know if I did it or if it was from the Factory. I dont know how I would have put a whole in the back of the radiator. Will it be covered under waranty? I called my JD dealer I bought it from and he is going to pick it up but I wonder if he will say it is not under waranty because it looks like something hit it. What do you guys think?

I think you should be covered! That is Just A freak Thing ! You should be allright !

I think he will fix it for you if you are nice to him, which although I do not know you, I would say you are. JD is really good about warranty things, and if you have a new tractor that has an issue and there is any question generally it is fixed under warranty. Bear in mind that John Deere basically makes enough money off parts alone and parts sales to operate the company in the black. The units sold are pretty much to perpetuate the cycle. So, if they have to replace the radiator or even the tractor for that matter (they will not need to) JD would likely do it to retain your stewardship. Keep us posted.

There is a service bulletin regarding the gap between the fan and radiator on the 2305. This is something the dealer must check before delivery. Could the fan have hit the radiator?

I knew when I read the title this was a 2305. The fan into the radiator has happened to a lot of us. It is covered under warrenty.

Hi:

A few folks here have had that issue. One person (Can't remember who) fabricated a small steel brace to stop the Radiator from being able to flex. Mine has a lot of clearance so unless I drove off a 10' drop and hit I can't imagine the radiator enough to hit the fan. I Guess maybe it's an adjustment thing.

I have had two damaged radiators on my 2305. One at 35hrs and the other at 60hrs. The dealer screwed me on the first one but covered the second one. Jdfanatic is correct about the bulletin. When i called JD they said it was up to the dealer for all warranty issues( judge and jury!). Good luck with the dealer. Just stick to your guns, you spent enough money on a nice machine for them to be happy now it is time for them to make you happy.

You got That right Thats one Reason I like John Deere They always stasnd Behind there products 99.5% of the time !

My 2305 developed a massive coolant leak at 3.2 hours. The leak was from the temp sensor housing right behind the radiator. It spewed most of the coolant out and overheated (severly) before I realized it.

They gave me a new tractor. I'm sure you won't have a problem.

They came bright and early this morning and took may baby He said it looked like something got behind the radiator and punched a hole in it. He said I don't see y it wouldn't be covered under waranty. He also told me to change my oil more often then the book said. He said "oil is cheap" he said first 20 hrs change oil then every 50 or so he also said 200 hours is too long.
I am sure we could start another post about everones oppinion on oil and trans changes.
