I bought my bx23 brand new in 2005. I have always changed the engine oil and fuel filters once a year. I would now like to provide a very detailed service such as changing the front axle fluid. The machine has 385 hours on it and runs great I just want to ensure it will keep going. What are your recomendations?

Tia,

Kip

I believe the Manuals now call for a 400 hour service, we are going to do one on our BX2660 as soon as the weather permits. It includes Hydro Filter and fluid, axle fluid etc.

I believe Messick's use to have this on their website.

Front axle fluid, full hydro fluid and filter, oil and filter, air filter, fuel filters, and I'd also flush and fill the anti-freeze. The battery is a question mark at that age as well.

This checklist is all in the manual, of course, and a generic version is on the Kubota website.

Let us know if you need any more info, I have Messicks link on another computer and can check my BX2660 Operator Manual if needed.

My local auto mechanic had an employee that had worked on Kubotas at a dealership and he is friends with the local Kubota service guy. I purchased the hydro fluid, motor oil and filters from the local dealer. Hauled everything over to my mechanics shop where they did the work. He charged me $375. I paid over $600 for the 50 hour service. I opted for the mechanic shop because they have facilities to reclaim the fluids rather than do it myself or take it to the dealer.

I took delivery of this unit Feb of 2007. Still has the original battery and still starts first time every time - although I think it turns over just a little slower. I guess I'll keep the battery until it doesn't start any more.

just did the 400 hr on my l2500 and about 350 for the sudt, air filter, fuel filter, motor oil, grease etc-----we did the work ourselves- def not cheap -dealer would have also charged 150 pickup/ del charge- they quote 600 to do whole job incl p/u
