Flail mower?

After reading all the threads it seems the Berta 26" is the favorite? My main use would be mowing a tight and rough front yard and then the garden cover crops plus mulching up the spent plants. Any regrets on them? Always used a brush mower in the past which leaves huge pieces and the rototiller has to do most of the work. Will these things mow down corn stocks or is that too much to push down? It will be put on a 107D so, looks like the 26" is the right size.

I think the Berta flail mower is one of the finest pieces of equipment you can put on a Grillo or BCS machine. Berta also makes the rotary plow. Corn stalks are surely no match for the flail mower. It'll take 1 inch saplings.

I found that very tall (~ 6 feet) dense green stands of meadow foxtail stopped the mower. This was a 34 inch Berta with baffle in and 13 hp Honda on BCS 853. Not sure I have ID'd the grass right, but I think it is meadow foxtail. And same goes for pampas grass. Once the meadow foxtail gets dry, or if it is not such a tall dense stand, then the mower goes right through it. Nothing else caused problems for me yet (well, except bits of steel fence I didn't see until after they got caught up in the mower.)

I haven't mowed up any corn yet, but I am pretty sure the Berta will go right through it. That is one of the intended uses. I am growing my corn in raised beds with wooden sides, so I probably won't mow any corn.
