Loader Flipped my L48 Kubota

After reading this I figured I would get a CO2 extinguisher for my L35. Wow, they are pretty pricey, close to $150. Anyone find a better solution? While flipping the tractor is surely something I plan to avoid, I do have quite a bit of hilly terrain and already had a few "Oh S%$t" moments. I do have the pull knob, but as covered in here, that wont work if it is running off the crankcase oil.

It turns out it was not the head gasket leaking. The antifreeze that i thought was coming out of the head gasket is actually leaking out of the dam exhaust studs. The threads go all through into the water jackets on the head. The new studs come a blue Teflon, or some type of sealant on them like a lot of the air fittings nowadays. I reused my old ones not realizing they would leak because they thread into the water chamber part of the head.

I don't think they are stretch bolts on the head, and she runs great. Just the dam leak. went down and got four new studs from kubota at $5 a stud for the four that was leaking.

So did the goo on the studs fix the leak ? I have trouble picturing a leak past a threaded stud in cast metal unless it was loose.

Leaks are fixed. Running Good. I did rupture a hydraulic line. :mad: When I unhooked the loader i Just let the cylinders hang and i guess bending dry rotting line cracked it.

Old lines seem to crack pretty easy.

Glad your up and running.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I love a fixed tractor story. don't forget when you split your tractor next year to fix the oil leak, tell us about it and take pictures.

Now put one of these on it so it won't happen again.

Wow, sorry about your luck. I look forward to reading all 17 pages and hearing the outcome. I have never heard of a runaway diesel!!!

I watched a compilation and although serious, one made me laugh as the guy ran away and the older man with wisdom got the Detroit diesel to shut off. I would be the guy running as I can completely see if messing with my orientation. Good learning experience I hope to never deal with
