I have kind of an odd question, has anybody ever flipped their wagon wheels over to allow for a little wider stance and better turning radius due to less interference when the front wheels turn sharply? I have an old John Deere 953 and just put a new bed on it. Pulling it around the lot with my atv I noticed that I cant turn too sharp or the tires will rub against the main floor beams. The only problem I can see is that there is a lip on the rim that fits over a lip on the hub that is machined to mount a certain direction. When I flip it, it still goes over the lip but doesnt hang there as it did when the rim was mounted the other way. Any ideas? Thanks fellas.

By reversing the rims, you will shorten the life of your wheel bearings and put extra stress on your spindles when loaded heavy. Ken Sweet

Depending on the size of the hub, you can try it just by turning the wheels around. You lose the little depressions the lugs or nuts seat in, but it will give you an idea if you want to turn them or not. If it fits and the wheel contacts the hub so it's not just the bolts or lugs taking all the weight, at the low speed a wagon goes, they should last forever. I've run a utility trailer to Florida and back many times with the wheels reversed this way for clearance and never had a problem.
