hope somebody can help me out here, out moving some of the April snow and ran into a little problem with the loader. My tractor is a 2007 CK2oHST. I know the float position is all the way forward with the joystick. And it worked fine for the first ten minutes or so. Then it started acting up. I would push the joystick into the float position and it would float but as soon as I started moving the HST pedal to forward the loader would power down and lift the front of the tractor. Tried it many times to no avail, kept doing the same thing. Also one more question, can you tilt the bucket still while in the float position? Thanks guys

I only use the float postion going in reverse, I dont know if you can use it going forward. To late right now , but I will try it first thing in the morning.

yes you can tilt the loader while in the float position and forward or reverse. it sounds like the loader is not in the float position if the front end is coming up when you go forward. sounds like it is locked and the bucket is digging in. when i use the float i usually engage the joystick when the bucket is at least a foot above the ground so i can actually see the bucket settle to the ground. perhaps an adjustment is needed on the joystick position. good luck. i've had my ck20hst for over 3 years with no issues... welcome to the pack....

When in the float position, as soon as you start to go forward and the bucket/blade hits any kind of resistance the front end of the tractor will rise up as the rear wheel tractive force causes the tractor to pivot at the location where the FEL is joined to the tractor. This is just physics. To avoid the front end from rising just take the FEL out of the float position after it has contacted the ground and go from there. You will ultimately have to raise and lower the FEL to follow the contour of the ground you are on though.

When you think of it, working the bucket tilt steers the bucket in the direction between digging (down) and raising towards the surface (up).
This is how I plow snow with the bucket and not dig into the driveway.

On my CK30hst with KL130, if the loader is in float, it floats up and down. If you have the bucket at to much of a down angle, it will dig in like Steve mentioned and then physics take over. The arms can only drop so far as it digs in and then it's like a pole vault. The front has to lift or something is sure to break. Try less of an angle with the bucket.
I guess a good test would be to roll the bucket back a little from level and give it a try in float. This way the bucket wouldn't dig in. If for some reason the front lifts maybe your joystick needs adjusted like Jim mentioned. You may not truely be in float.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. As mentioned, you guys are exactly right. I figured it out before checking back on this post, and like stated, it is the resistance causing the tractor to try to drive over the bucket. When I thought it was working correctly, I had been using the float in reverse. Well anyway, all is well and its nice to know that I have alot of help here. The only reason I bought a Kioti is from following this site for two years and seeing the info from actual owners, plus the specs being better than other compacts. Thanks again, Marc
