I remember reading about certain brands of tractors not offering the float function on their rear remote setups. I just finished running hoses for a new grapple. I noticed that my Kioti does have the float position for one set of the remotes. The lever also goes back to the neutral position when releasing it. This is the circuit I hooked the grapple lines to. The other lever (a and b) does not have the float function, it also does not return to the neutral position when releasing it. I'm a newbe with this stuff so I don't exactly know all the be edits to each circuits options.

liledgy ,

What is the brand and model number on the remote valve?

Do you really want float on a grapple? In float mode, all ports are connected to tank. In float mode, the lever stays locked in a set position..

The second spool on the remote might be a detent spool which will keep the fluid flow constantly.

If you want to, you could remove the float parts from the bottom of the spool.

If you install a hyd pressure gage, you can use it for trouble shooting the hyd system. It will tell yo when ou have pressure and how much.

Lee, I may recognize his face if I saw him, but can't put his name on a face.
JJ, the remotes were installed by kioti when I bought the tractor. I'm not aware of any different models I could of chooses from. When I was trying out the grapple I never pushed the lever all the way to the float function. I liked how the lever always returned to the neutral position (like the loader) after you closed the grapple versus manually pulling lever back on the "a and b" lever. Thank you for the info on troubleshooting the system. I faguely remember reading mountainviews comments on the float function but I think that was about useing a box blade with TNT.

I would say that the A-B control would be intended to be used with a back hoe and log splitter and you C-D control for everything else. Yes the float function has some benefits for different types of 3pt use.

Thanks for posting the picture. ;)
