Mahindra 4110
Have a 3 yr old Mahindra 4110 that I bought used 6 months ago, and this is my first problem with this tractor in over 75 hrs use (tractor has 550 hrs total). Don't know if the problem is with the tractor or the operator (ME) Have never needed the float position on my loader but I figure I will need it for the snow season, problem is I don't think I have a float position, have tried numerous times with no luck, couple of friends have tried and they say it is not there- and need to replace the valve/joystick. I have noticed several dealers on this forum- can you tell me if they sold the 4110 without a float position years ago???
If there was a float position on this valve/joystick, can it be fixed or does it need to be replaced??? Cost?????
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a funny one for ya. I bought my 6000 used also. When I was using the FEL I notice the joystick sticking when I moved it all the way forward. After a few days of messing with it I decided to try to buy rebuild kit and I was doing some digging on the internet. I'll be dang, this thing has something called float postion. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Anyhow, get the modle number of your loader and do search on the net. http://www.bushhog.com/
Good luck

My 4110 is 4 years old and it has a float position, and I've used it tremendously. It's the detent it clicks into when you push the joystick all the way straight forward. The float "floats" the 2 loader arm cylinders so the whole bucket will follow the ground - it does not float the bucket cylinders so your bucket will stay at whatever tilt you have it set at. You can also work the bucket tilt while in the float position to change it's angle - I use this all the time to taper fill or gravel work. Mine has had so much use that it won't stay in the detent by itself much anymore, one of these days I'm going to take it apart and replace the spring for the check balls so it will stay engaged again. Might even be able to stretch the spring back out a little to get some more service out of it. For now I've gotten used to holding it in float but sometimes need that hand to work the boxblade at the same time and really miss the detent. To really get some good back-dragging with your bucket, you can grab a load of fill in the bucket to give it some weight and put it in float and experiment with the angle of your bucket and get some great results. When my detent worked well, I could set my bucket like that to clear my tire marks as I backed up and work the boxblade to shove "ahead" of me and save alot of time on final grade work. My loader is the KMW ML112, probably same as yours. The manual shows the breakdown of the loader valve so you can check the float components yourself.

If you check you may find you have a float position on the bucket dump also. There was a tread a few months back that talked about it.

I didn't pay any attention to it until I tried it.

There is also a float on the down pressure of the back Hoe.

Unclebuck01, Check and see what brand valve is on the loader, probably it is a NIMCO valve. Give me a call at 585-343-0770 and I will help you figure out the problem.
