Last year the gearshift lever on my 1010 got floppy on me after numerous shifts between 2nd and reverse one afternoon. It still works fine, but has a lot of play in it now.
If I knew what was wrong, I could go into my shop manual and figure out whether or not I want to try and correct it. But I remember my Dad's old Farmall M was a lot like this and it never seemed to matter. Still, I'd like to keep my 1010 in good shape, and if it's a pretty easy fix, I'd probably try it. If I had to split the tractor, I probably would never try to fix it.
Anyone have any ideas on what the culprit is?
Thanks!
