Floppy RearView Mirror on Ram 3500

I got a floppy mirror and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it a part. I assume that I can tighten it up if I can get it apart. Hopefully that is the case. Any help will be appreciated as always. Thanks.

That's not a rear view mirror.

As far as I know there is no taking them apart. I do know of several people that have JB Welded the glass in place after it became loose.


If it comes down to it do not pay what Dodge wants for a new one. They can be had aftermarket for much much less.

Yes you can find them on eBay and Amazon all day long.

Thanks - I was afraid of that. JB Weld it will be on a 14 year old truck with one driver.
At least I got the mirror part right. That's pretty good for me. Just so I don't totally embarrass myself again what is the proper name ??

Had the same problem with my F150 power mirror, $40 from the junk yard and 20 minutes solved the problem.

I would call it a right hand side view mirror. It is still a rear view mirror, however when thinking rear view mirror most folks would think that would be the one inside the cab.

Gordon, does it flop all over the place or shake? The right side mirror on my '04 shakes. It's annoying at times, but I'm hoping that the "flop" isn't in its future.

Is it a power mirror and was it "folded" toward the front of the truck? If it was it is probably beyond repair. L2800 w/FEL - 72" Land Pride rake
