I have a fluid leak under my 2005 CK20HST. I hope the picture will explain what I am trying to say. The front of the tractor is towards the left. The fluid is coming from inside the tube and running out the hole. I am sure this is the drive line to the front wheels, but since I cannot see inside this, I don't know what exactly I am looking at. I have the manual, but am unsure exactly what part I am looking at.

I noticed the leak yesterday when I pulled the tractor out of the barn, wet spot on the floor of the barn. Did not use the tractor much this winter except for pushing snow.

Sorry for the lack of information, but I am hoping with some of your help I can figure this issue out, and then try to correct it.

Thank you to anyone that can assist.

It is not easy to determine exactly what each part it is that you can see when you look at the CK20HST - at least for me. Diagrams (as shown in the Workshop manual) photos and what I can see with my own eyes do not look identical. Might that be the Propeller Shaft Cover ?? At page 7-12 of my CK20 Workshop Manual (July 2003) Chapter 7 titled Front Axle, this part seems to be the propeller shaft COVER, described as Propeller Shaft Cover 1 and Propeller Shaft Cover 2. . I could be wrong though. Inside, per manual is the propeller shaft, coupling, cir clip, 3 0-rings, spring pin, bolt. Manual states "(When reassembling) Apply grease to the splines of the propeller shaft" Couple of years ago I had hydraulic fluid leaks here and there (found the fluid low on the tractor and traced it up) seemed to be originating off the connections for the lines going to the backhoe right over the rear PTO. Dealer tightened up for me. Still get a few drops here and there. Good luck with it.

Sorry, very diificult to tell from the picture. If that is the Front Propellor Shaft, the leak would most likely originate at the front pinion seal or the rear shaft seal.

A few more pictures would be very helpful.

I own a 2005 CK30HST. I had a problem with the rigid oil cooler lines leaking. I replaced them with flexible lines supplied by a Kioto dealer. Don't know if the CK20 was set up the same or not. Check the oil cooler to see if you have rigid lines coming off the cooler. On the 30 it is in front of the radiator. The lines run vertical down to the frame, then along the frame on either side. If the lines are leaking you may see oil collecting in the channel that holds the dust screens, as well as a "muck" on the screen (as opposed to dust) from the oil getting sucked to the screen by the radiator fan. May be oil on the engine also. If this is the problem and you get the updated flexible lines, make sure you get the fittings that connect the new lines to the old fittings in place. The replacement lines are from the engine compartment floor up to the cooler. Hope this helps.

KevinMcD, I did check those lines and they appear ok.
MichiganIron, I will be putting up other pics before the weekend.
ccdck20hst, you are right on the money that is the part. I looked in my parts manual and it looks like I am looking at part: T2360 44611 "Cover 1 propeller shaft" (I new there was a reason I went USMC instead of Navy, damned propellers!,)
There is a crescent opening on the bottom, which is what you see in the pic, this is where the fluid is leaking. I plan on looking over everything from the foot pads back this weekend.

Not sure but I think based on MichiganIron is could be the rear shaft seal.

I will take off the backhoe and that will give me more access. I will then try to take some better pics to show what I can see.

Thank you all for your assistance so far! This place is a goldmine when you have a problem.

Here is my update: Used the tractor for a few things today and then hosed it off to get some better pictures. Well I think they are better. The first one shows the opening in the tube, from below the tractor. I tried to put in an arrow to point to the opening in the tube. From the side it looks like a crescent opening, but from below it is a circular opening. This is where the leak/drip comes from, so something inside of this is leaking.

The next photo shows the part/area I think the issue is with, I put an orange square around it, although after thinking about it, it could include the next part towards the read (right of picture) to the next set of bolts.

Still not sure exactly what is in there, and what parts will be needed. But is sure looks like splitting the tractor in two, to open these parts up. :confused2:

The other picture shows the area I am speaking about from above.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. It would be nice to order the parts and have them on hand before taking it apart, but if I have to wait till it is apart I guess that will do also.

I also noticed after cleaning the tractor. The leak is very very slow just sitting there with the tractor off. It is the same with the tractor running, but in neutral. The leak really kicks in when in low/high range and a load is put on to move the tractor. Not sure if that helps at all with a diagnosis.

I have never tackled anything this big before, any idea of what it takes ($$) for a dealer to halve a tractor?

Again, in advance I thank everyone who took the time to look at this thread.

Respectfully,

CT_Jeff

I had mine split by a dealer and I think it was around $450
