Does anyone know what type fluid goes in the transfer case & transmission of a '53 Ferguson T030? I heard 90 weight & mineral oil. Which one?:confused2:
RK 55HC,ym1700, NH7610S, Ford 8N, 2N, NAA, 660, 850 x2, 541, 950, 941D, 951, 2000, 3000, 4000, 4600, 5000, 740, IH 'C' 'H', CUB, John Deere 'B', allis 'G', case VAC
both! 90wt mineral oil!
you got a couple choices.
napa sells 90wt GL-1 .. think the part number is 65-205 check that though.
TSC sells a 'ford' transmission and hyd oil that is probably a 90wt Gl-3 oil.
ford N use this same oil..
some of us use 85w90 gl4/5 MT-1 rated oil that is yellow metal safe... the fords seem to tolerate it well. the MT-1 rating and yellow metal safe marks are important. the scotch yoke pumps in them are full of yellow metal.
On the flip side i hear fergy owners complain that the 85w90 oil just isn't the same to the fergy and they don't like it. same with UTF oils.. which ford N also seem to tolerate well once you rebuild the hyds.
in any case. with that. .. i'd choose the TSC 90 gl3 oil over the napa 90 gl1
