Does anyone know how much the tires weigh on a 2520 after they are foamed? I am curious as to how much the total rig weighs. I recently had mine foamed and it seems that there is quite a difference with the way the tractor feels load wise. My typical configuration is with the 200CX loader on the front and box blade on the rear.

The reason I asked the question about weight was so I will know what specs to look for on a trailer. I plan to get one so I don't have to depend on neighbors to move the tractor.

I think it depends on what you've foamed them with. See if they have any specs on density and we may be able to help you calculate the weight for your tires. Most people here use a liquid to fill their tires, you should be able the get a high estimate by checking how much people say RimGuard or a salt solution increase the weight.

Please forgive my incompetence for using this site. However, if you will go to JD buying/pricing and look down to you see a thread entitled 542 loader weight, you will see where dgl24087 was kind enough to send me filled weights of various tires from the Rim Guard site--he provided the link. I don't have a clue about foam, but this should get you started.

Thanks, unreconstructed! Here's a direct link to that post. I would imagine RimGuard is much heavier than the foam you're using, but when buying a trailer it's better to estimate high.

Thanks for the info guys. The rimguard data will probably get me in the ball park. I will also try the tire folks that did the foam fill.
The reason I went to foam over water filled was the flat tire issue. After the fires here in Southern CA last year my property is covered with burned Sumac and Manzanitas that work real fine as puji sticks on my tires. I got tired of breaking out the compressor, jacks and tire plugs ever time I wanted to use the tractor. Punched a pencil sized hole through the sidewall of one of the front tires ($150) to replace. 5 flats in about as many weeks. Now it is not an issue.
