So last January my hydraulics completely quit working. I don't have a shop so I left it 'til Spring' but I got T-boned in the car late February.
Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) suck, and kept me sidelined until July/August when I could finally get back to the tractor issue.
I found a young (22) farm equipment mechanic to come have a look, and we hashed out all the possibilities discussed here.
This was the majority of my issue, found by sharp eyes when replacing the worn out pump. He found this crack on the filter housing where the banjo bolt connects. He sourced a new/used filter housing for me for $80, the only one available he could find, but he also made this [longer thread] banjo bolt in hopes of getting me up and running sooner.
He cleaned up the bunged threads on the housing, applied thread paste, and installed the longer bolt.
Hydraulics are now better than ever and the new/used filter housing will remain on the shelf in the tool shed 'just in case'.
Tip: If you are running older equipment, networking the local redneck/farm scene is your best investment, because somebody.... knows "a guy"!
