I need to pass along a "thank you" to who ever posted about the truck bed liner spray you buy at wal mart. stoped by wally world this past weekend and happen to remember a post about this, marched over to the auto dept. and bingo there is was. Grabed a can stuck it in the cart (aprox. $5.00) got home and pulled the foot deck's on my trusty yanmar and sprayed away. wow!!! looks great and no slip.

Did you prep or sand them first before applying the coating?

yepper I preped them first hit them with the wire brush thingy you put on a drill or grinder, some sand paper and wiped them clean with solvant. Sprayed two coats top and bottom.
I didn't kill myself preping them, I got them to a point where I thought paint would stick spent about 1/2 hour for each one

I didn't know truck bed liner spray cans were available...and never thought to look for that knid of item when I was looking for a way to protect my tractor's foot rests.

Three years ago when my tractor was new, I took off my foot rests and had them sprayed at a commercial bed liner spray shop. I think they charged me $20 or $25.

The material is not as slip resistant as I would like, but the durability has been great. At three years old, they still look pretty much like new. I'm sure the factory paint job would not have held up nearly as well.

You can thank a member named GlennT (in Texas, owns a 2 wheel drive Deere 670) for the idea. He did his about 5 years ago and the coating is still holding up well.
