Here's something you've likely only heard about, & then only in passing, but one shows up at one of our local cruise ins on a semi-regular basis. What is it? A 1920 Mercer Raceabout. I only got 2 pics because they just started it & were ready to depart when my brother & I arrived. BTW, this thing sounds wicked! It's loud! It's NOT a museum piece either, it gets driven!

Here's my latest toy. I'll let everyone guess what it is. I will say the last year for this model was 1932. Of course this one sits a little lower since it was made into a street rod.

Bill, nice 71. 340?

Rob, I've seen a few things about Heinz & that car. He certainly was ahead of his time!

George, for some reason, the first thing that popped into my head was Pierce Arrow. Sweet rod! You certainly wouldn't loose it in the sea of Porsche red 32's!

David,

It is actually a 70, 340 4speed. It is hard to tell the difference without seeing the rear.

The grill got me... I saw the black & said, "It's a 71!" Around 20 years ago I did a 70 Dart for a friend (drag car). We swapped out the original sliver painted grill for a black painted 71 piece from one of the many cars we parted out back then.

It runs DEEP in the 9's (9.1-9.2) at 147-148 MPH in the quarter, it's heavy (3000lbs with driver), & is almost dead consistent.

BTW, my Dart isn't what it seems. There's not a system in the car I haven't monkeyed with in one way or another. If you'd like to learn more about it, or about making your car handle with most anything on the road today, PM me! I could go on & on & on.... Sometimes I think the tractor guys don't appreciate my enthusiasm for the old Mopars of that era, so I'll leave you with a pic of my bro & his 69 Coronet 500 wagon (hint: it only looks stock).
