Where do I begin.....
Please say a word or two when you hit your knees today for my sister-in-law. She's about 2 hours (scheduled at noon) to under-go a "radical masectomy". A tumor was discovered about 6 weeks ago. (Doc said it is the relative size of a lemon) She also has the great misfortune of having hepatitis (C, I believe I was told) That, and the accompanying liver damage prevents her from having follow-up chemotherapy. Her doctor gave her a 1-in-10 chance of surviving this.

Many years ago, she introduced me to my wife. (And I don't even hold that against her)

She has a son 25, two daughters, ages 15 and 9. Her husband was recently laid off, and they lost their medical insurance at that time.

I'll print out the kind words left here for her to see at some point. It always makes a person feel better when they know other people care.

Thanks.

We'll pray for the best for her; sounds like she's having more than her share of problems right now, but there's certainly reason for hope. My mother had a radical mastectomy in 1966 and then had hepatitis immediately after the surgery (believed to have been contracted in the hospital). And she had no follow up chemo or radiation. But she's been free of cancer since and will be 85 in February.

May the Lord bless you, protect you and provide healing for you, and comfort for your family at this time.

Prayers are on the way !
I ,myself went through a "life threathing " situation many years ago . Until that day ,I had been what you would call a 95% Christian . That is ,I beleived in the Lord but always had the "What if he does not Exist " feeling . The miracles I was given that day made everything I went through worth it . From that day since ,I am a 100% believer in the Lord and his power. Sometimes God is the last person we turn to for help ,but he is always there and willing to provide for our needs and all we need to do to recieve this wonderful gift is ask and believe . ALWAYS BELIEVE ! My thoughts are with you and the family .

Update:

Thanks to all. Your prayers must have done the trick!

Surgery went well. Cancer apparently hadn't made it into the lymph nodes yet. Tumor removed. SIL is home already, resting comfortably. As is the case with any form ofcancer, it will take time before we can say she's beat it, but at least things look promising.

Thanks again guys!
