How does the re-enforcement plate mount? From what I have read, one said it goes on top of the fender, and another says it goes under the fender, and replaces the two bars that are under it. Which way is it?
I am surprised. I would figure that by mounting it on top, that it would spread out the weight of the seat, and the operator. Now that I know that it is just a square plate, I may make another at work, and mount one on the top and one on the bottom.
My dealer just installed the "Plate". They found I had about an inch crack so he orderd a fender and decals. Today he called and let me know he installed it wrong (on my cracked fender), the plate is under the fender not over as he installed it. He will correct it when the fender comes in. I thnk it great to know he called and let me know it was installed wrong but it will be corrected!
That has been my ony problem and if it was not mentioned here I would be out of warranty befor I found the crack, Thanks to everyone!
The TSB states the serial numbers affected. Mine was one and it is 2 years old. I can get to the plate easily as he mounted it on top, not the bottom. They were going to mount the plate before I found the fender had cracked, It was at the same time they mounted the plate that I found the crack.
The plate is a little larger in square then the seat rails. The bolt holes are the same as the seat rails. The plate is about 1/6 inch thick. They are replacing the fender as my warranty runs out in 3 weeks, otherwise I was content on just watching it and if it grew the fender would be replaced.
I just picked up my TZ25 from the dealer. They replaced the entire rear fender, new decals, everything with the added plate (it mounts under the fender). Looks like new in every repspect. I got the number for anyone's reference: It is referred to as an Assist, the number is KMD536962 (it might be KM0536962).
Hope this helps for those that are having issues with the dealer finding the TSB.
I complained about my fender cracking and they finaly found info about this problem. They are now looking into the problem. But here is the big problem my frame broke in half where the loader attaches to the tractor. My frame is junk. it also has cracks around the reinforcement plate that they welded under the frame at the factory. The two brackets that the mower deck attaches to have cracks at the welds. When i bought this tractor two years and three months ago it had 25 hours on it and was sold to me as a new unit. It had the loader on it and came from another dealer in IL. The bucket never was square to the ground when I bought from him. So with out any input from New Holland the adjusted the tire pressure and the loader brackets and it did not help. Also the two engine to hood side panels tabs broke off after a few months after buying the tractor. I spent over $20,000 with all the attachments I bought for it. If you email me I can send you pics of the frame. They don't want to replace the frame ,but are concedering welding it and reinforcing it from the inside of the frame by removing the engine. The frame is to smal for loader use or the dealer let some one use the tractor and ran into a curb with the loader and cracked the frame at the mounting holes for the loader bracket. Call this laddy at 1-866-639-4563 and file a complaint with her and also with your dealer. John Deere offered to my my tractor for what I paid for it and you can guess what they are going to use it for!!!!!! My email is ram65kfb@aol.com and my cell number is 815-671-0911 . I hope this will help. Ron Madding
