Ford 105A Tiller parts availability?

Hey everyone,

I'm going to go take a look at a 48" Ford 105A tiller this afternoon. I know that blades are available for it, but are other parts (gears/chain, bearings, etc) available? Or are things like the bearings pretty much universal (Timken, etc...)?

It looks rough (paint wise) from the photos, but the price is right. I can handle repairing it if needed....as long as I can get parts.

Thoughts?

On the tillers I have torn up or torn apart most of the items can be found someplace. Chain covers are often worn out and mig welding is needed to put metal back in place. Newer models are commonly made in Italy. Needed some Deere parts and had to buy some tubes new. Did Ford actually build their own ?

Sorry for the delay responding (I know a lot of people don't follow up with posts...)

So, thanks for the parts hints....

It turns out this tiller is like a '79 or '80 model. Most bearings and things are available, but the biggest parts.... not so much.

I went and looked at it up close. Most of it is in pretty good shape, but some of the wear parts shot. The chain tensioner is shot, and is not available as a replacement part. It's missing a couple of cast parts,and they can't be had.

The main shaft bearings/seals on the non-drive end are gone.... as in.... outer race...inner race.... and that about it. There are no bearings. hehe...

Anyways, those main bearings can be replaced and I can have some of the parts spun out at a machine shop... but at what price?

The seller is pretty set on the price, but he's reposted it once with a lower price. If he does it again with a price point I can accept I might go grab it, replace what I can, and just run it until it dies.....

Hello Is there a source to order 105A parts from. Did you find a Spring for the chain tensioner. My 105 needs bearings and seals also. Have not got it apart yet. Are the 105 bearings and seals available from parts suppliers. Normally I can find them that way. I even find bearings to fit my Russian tractor at that way.
