Ford 1200 (Shibaura ???) Radiator

I need to replace the radiator (I'm told the original is unrepairable) and cannot find an aftermarket unit. I've contacted several F/NH dealers and have gotten conflicting answers on the availability. They all seem to agree that the cost is just under $1,000, which is close to robbery IMO.

I do not know what the equivalent Shibaura model would be, but curious if anyone knows of an aftermaket source for a radiator that will fit the Ford 1200 (model year 1980) or similar Shibaura model.

I would think a good radiator repair shop could recore yours for a lot less than a grand!

The two shops I've taken it to so far say it cannot be rebuilt. The tanks are plastic and the rubber seals that surround the tubes are shot. Replacememnt seals are not available according to both places.

Replacement radiators are available for the 1210 series for $425+ but the mounting points are different and hose outlets are smaller. It would be a jury-rigged set-up to make one of those work (which I may have to do as a last resort).

Neither shop offered to custom fabricate a radiator that would be close in size. Don't know what that would run dollar-wise.

Thanks for the input. I ended up buying the aftermarket 1210 radiator and fabricating a bracket for mountin it in place.

Back in operation again!

Oh man ive got 2 of those **** Shibuara machines. Rolls Royce parts are cheaper.
