Ford 1210 Coolant

I just flushed and filled the coolant in my 1210. The dealer this time gave me a jug of coolant that was purple. In the past it was always green.

Does anyone know if this change in coolant is something that will have a negative effect on my engine? I am aware that they update specs all the time but this got me wondering.

It had been several years of light use since I last changed it. It was very very clean when it came out. I was happy about that.

What does it say on the jug? that should be all the info you need. Most likely it is Polypropylene Glycol rather Ethylene Glycol that is quite toxic. No issue using PG that is usually dyed green. You even find a bit of PG in big box store cakes like Costco, figure that!!

your 1980's tractor came with standard green Ethylene Glycol before all the introduction to mixed metals like the new vehicles have.
There is also a universal gold that extends the drain interval to every 5 years. green is 2 years.
