OK, for those that might be interested, I finally got my 1210 running like new again. Before I tell you about the problem and the fix, I'll tell you what I did in troubleshooting the problem. First, as suggested, I did the easy stuff first. I changed the air filter, replaced the hydraulic pressure filter and cleaned the suction screen and the screen at the hydraulic pump, as well as, changed the hydraulic fluid. I also changed the engine oil and filter, none of this solved the problem. Fortunately, the problem got worse rather than better. This unfortunate circumstance caused me to dig further. I checked the fuel lines, the line to the pump and the return line, everything here appeared normal with no problems. At this point I am quite perplexed, so I called a neighbor that does mechanic work on diesel tractors, he walks up and listen to the engine and says he is not sure, but to him it looks as though there should be more exhaust coming from the muffler. Then upon his suggestion we removed the muffler, now it is at this point, I remembered my father telling me that he had seen a catalytic converter stop up and that it caused the same symptoms, so, I removed the exhaust. Guess what, the exhaust ports were as clean as a whistle, but the muffler was evidently plugged causing a restriction of the exhaust and this my friend was the problem. Once the muffler was off and the exhaust was open she ran like a top.
