Traction Ford 1510 4 wheel drive will not engage

That's an interesting thought on using a 1710 front end. I think the 1310 front end is exactly the same so I'm looking for salvage 1310 tractors. I am going to call Wengers and Long Lane Tractors tomorrow. I bought the tractor like this. I got taken but it was my fault for not fully trying the 4 wheel drive. It didn't slip going up the trailer ramps so we assumed the 4 wheel was working but got it home and it spun as soon as I started too use bucket.

Oh man, that sucks. I’m hoping I didn’t fall for the same trick because I didn’t test mine either. I engaged it, and drove around, but how would you know if it’s working or not? Let us know what you find out, good luck.

Well, the 1510 is all fixed. I found a ring and pinion after a long search and many phone calls. The tractor had the wrong size tires on it which caused the ring and pinion to slip and eventually strip the gears so now with a new set of tires, new brakes I am ready to try it out.
