I have to replace a hydraulic line on my 1510 and thought that I would change the fluid while I am at it. I found tractor hydraulic & transmission fluid at NAPA that is rated for New Holland/ford M2C 134 A, B, C. I know that it uses Ford 134 rated fluid. Will this work? It is NAPA 85-475

Yes, that fluid will work fine

Thanks for confirming it for me. I am actually planning to change it tomorrow so your timing is great. I feel a lot better using it now. Gary

I changed the fluid over the weekend and put 19 quarts in and it does not register on the dip stick so I added the remaining quart from the 5 gallon bucket and it barely reads on the dip stick. the book shows 19 quarts. any thoughts on this? Thanks, Gary

I haven't seen an owners manual on the 10 series compacts lately but it could take a little more. make sure the stick is pushed all the way down. Is the stick on the shifter cover or on the plate behind the cover? You may have to run it a little to get the oil to migrate in to the transmission. It has to go through where the transmission housing bolts to the rear housing and may take a little while to level through out the trans. and axle housings.

Thanks for the reply. The dip stick is on the trans housing behind the shifter. I actually filled it in the dip stick hole. I have also read on this forum that you check it with the dip stick sitting on top of the threads but after putting the whole 20 quarts in I have to screw it in to get it to register. I have only had this tractor a few months and am still trying to figure everything out. thanks for your help. Gary
