ditto that.. look for a starter, generator, alternator / electric motor place.. they can usualy order off oem number.. or at least 'will fit', based on application.
The Ford 1520 was made by Shibaura in Japan between 1983 and 1986. It's a 3 cylinder Diesel, 3.03 by 3.15 inch bore and stroke or 70 by 80 mm. It's a 68.3 cubic inch or 1.1 liter engine. 22 horsepower. The starter is a Hitachi.
the original starter number is hitachi s114-381. have you taken the brushholder out. these starters unlike the american counterpart was built using a 3 brush set. it ran 2 '+' and 1 '-' brush holder. if you cannot find them call me on monday 800-303-3170 i can supply them. i get several call a week for these starters and can get remans also kinda pricey also keep in mind the negative brush is welded or silver soldered to brush plate which takes a lot more heat to work can supply ready to install brusholder in need to. just call
